Zhao Shuming, villager of Yingxiu, Wenchuan county, said, "I won't leave, as my relatives died here."

With their daily necessities buried under the ruins, they pick them out of the rubble amid the threat of aftershocks. Their old lives exist only in their memories. In remote mountainous areas, that rescue teams have difficulty reaching, people have to rely on themselves.

Water is from the river. Today, they eat porridge with vegetables dug from under the debris. They say relief materials have yet to arrive.

Lai Yuling, villager of Yingxiu, Wenchuan county, said, "We are short of rice, a tent and some medicines."

They have hope, but don't know what life will like tomorrow.

CCTV reporter Han Bin said, "There are still many people living in the temporary shelters, like this one they built themselves. It holds about 10 families. They are waiting for the government's relief materials to come."

Though life is difficult at the moment, many believe the situation will improve.

Yingxiu villager Lai Li said, "I think we should be optimistic, and rebuild our hometown to be even more beautiful. We have felt the warmth and support to us from all over the country."

This boy from the local school has survived. He says he is lucky and has a reason to live.

Yingxiu villager Peng Yong said, "I should study hard, and go to a college. I will use the knowledge to re-build my hometown."

Relief materials from all over the country continue to arrive, including drinks, food and various goods. Road conditions are improving, and life should get easier. The head of Yingxiu town has called for the relief work to speed up.

Jiang Qinglin, head of town of Yingxiu, Wenchuan county, said, "We thank the support from outside. But we still need more food, medicine and drinking water. "

At the moment, the electricity and telecommunications in many areas have not been restored. It will take time for people to resume a normal life.
