A grand ceremony is to be held in Lhasa on completion. Now, both the Potala Place and Norbulingka Monastery have been included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO and the Sakya Monastery is one of the key relic sites under national protection.

From 2006 to 2010, the Central Government will spend 570 million yuan protecting and maintaining the nine key relics projects in Tibet including the Samye Monastery, the Tashilhunpo Monastery, the Jokhang Temple, the Ramoche Monastery, Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery. The total investment in relics protection in Tibet is estimated at 1.2 billion yuan from 1978 to 2010.
