Exhibition to mark 40 years of reform

A major exhibition will open soon at the National Museum in Beijing to mark the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening-up, which was launched by Deng Xiaoping, according to China Central Television.
The State broadcaster said in its prime-time news program on Monday night that the exhibition will celebrate the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up and further promote Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
The event will be organized by several central authorities, including the Publicity Department and the Committee for Deepening Overall Reform of the CPC Central Committee. Preparations are underway, the news report said.
The exhibition will focus on the theme "Adhering to and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics" and will feature significant events, valuable experience and major achievements of the country over the past 40 years.
It will highlight the strategic road map created by the CPC Central Committee with Xi Jinping as its core after the Party's 18th National Congress in late 2012. The road map upholds and pushes forward reform and opening-up.
There will be six major themed sections in the exhibition, which will display comparisons of the Chinese economy and people's lives before and after reform and opening-up, especially after the 18th CPC National Congress, CCTV reported.
