Nineteen immovable cultural relics in Weihai, a coastal city of Shandong Province, were declared as the city's fourth batch of cultural preservation centers on Dec. 19, 2013.

At the beginning of this year, Weihai's cultural authorities started registering candidates for the fourth batch of cultural preservation centers.

Based on recommendations from the community, investigation, experts' verification, consultation with related departments, 19 became preservation centers.

Among 85 cultural relics in the city, 36 relics were upgraded to provincial preservation centers.
