Shandong Province held its first hiking rally on September 14 in the Jixi wetland. About 1,200 hikers embarked on a 28-kilometer hike.

Themed "Enjoying colorful life," the competition was organized by the Shandong Hiking Association to welcome the province's 10th Art Festival. The 28-kilometer hike was divided into two parts, the first one of which was 15 kilometers from the pavilion of the 10th Art Festival to the Jixi wetland, and the other running 13 kilometers straight through the wetland. Hikers could opt for the entire course or just one part of it

A bonfire ensued by fireworks, rock music, beer and barbeque followed the competition.
