China's anti-corruption chief He Guoqiang Friday urged authorities in Sichuan Province to go all-out to help the relief work in its neighboring quake-hit Qinghai Province.

He, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks during his inspection tour in Sichuan, the province hit hardest by an 8-magnitude earthquake in 2008.

Authorities in Sichuan should take advantage of its geographic location and its quake-relief experience and spared no effort to assist disaster-relief work in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu in Qinghai, he said.

In Huaxi Hospital based in Chengdu, the provincial capital of Sichuan, He called on medical staff to do their best to save lives and provide psychological consultation to the injured.

On leaving the hospital, He came to Shuangliu Airport and embarked unto a transport aircraft to inspect relief materials designated for the quake zone in Qinghai.

When speaking to a group of officers and soldiers from the armed police and the People's Liberation Army Air Force at the airport, He asked them to work hard and get the quake-relief personnel and equipment into the quake zone quickly and bring the injured out safely.

He also urged leaders from the Sichuan Provincial People's Government to mobilize manpower and provide relief materials to assist residents in the quake-hit Qinghai.

He called for all-out efforts from the leaders of Sichuan to treat the injured, some of whom had already been transported from Qinghai to Sichuan, and asked local authorities to continue their work in post-quake reconstruction.

During his four-day inspection tour to Sichuan ending Friday, He made trips to the areas hit by the 2008 quake to oversee the progress of Sichuan's post-quake reconstruction. He also visited local enterprises, high-tech zones and newly-built rural communities.

A 7.1-magnitude quake hit Yushu in Qinghai early Wednesday. By Friday, at least 791 people were dead, 11,486 were injured, and 294 were missing.with 100,000 more residents displaced, and about 15,000 residential buildings toppled, rescue authorities have said.

On May 12, 2008, an 8-magnitude earthquake hit west China, with the epicenter in Wenchuan of Sichuan, leaving more than 86,600 people dead or missing.
