Battle of Shanggao

The battle broke out on March 14 in 1941 in Gao'an and Shanggao counties and other places close to Nanchang, capital of South China's Jiangxi Province. The two-week battle ended with a decisive victory for the Chinese forces. Each side suffered huge casualties. A series of bloody see-saw fights left 15,000 Japanese soldiers and more than 20,000 Chinese dead.
