An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale struck remote Qinghai Province in northwest China at 6:15 p.m. Monday, the China Earthquake Administration said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or property losses, local government said.
The epicenter was located at 37.7 degrees north and 95.9 degrees east, said the administration.
The quake, which occurred three days after a 6.4-magnitude quake hit the region, was felt in Golmud, a city 160 km away from the epicenter.
