A Shenzhen Airlines plane from Beijing made an emergency landing at an airport in central China Sunday after fuel leaked from one of its engines, the company said Monday.
The Boeing 737, flight ZH9852, took off from Beijing at 2:30 p.m. and made a safe landing at 3:45 p.m. at the Zhengzhou airport after the crew discovered the left engine was leaking oil, according to the company's publicity department.
The landing did not cause damage to the plane and none of the 119 passengers onboard were injured, according to the airline.
After an initial examination, maintenance workers said that a problem with the engine's seal ring caused the fuel leak.
Most of the passengers have reached the original destination of Shenzhen, while a number of others have transferred to other routes as of Monday, according to the company.
The company said that it has not yet received any complaints or requests for compensation.
The plane is being repaired.
