A week of joint China-India army anti-terrorism training kicked off in India?Saturday with performances of tai chi and Indian martial arts.
The "Hand in Hand 2008" joint training at Belgaum, 500 kilometers southeast of Mumbai, is aimed at promoting the two armies' mutual understanding and trust, Qin Xiangyou, leader of the Chinese group, said during the opening ceremony. He said it was a way for the armies to develop their friendship, and expand areas of exchange and cooperation.
Chinese soldiers performed tai chi and displayed anti-terror shooting skills, while their Indian counterparts put on a display of the country's traditional martial arts. The soldiers will train in anti-terror methods and exchange theories on associated issues.
