Editor's Note

The year 2008 is full of ups and downs for the Chinese people. At the end of December, China.org.cn selects some 60 photos featuring all the major events of the year. In these photos, people are shedding their tears, bursting into hearty smiles, burning with angers, or mapping out their futures. They may not look as gorgeously as movie stars, but their faces are a reminder of all the suffering and glory we had gone through together.
