BEIJING, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- The 2025 Chinese Super League (CSL) season concluded on Saturday with Shanghai Port clinching its third consecutive title after a 1-0 away victory over Dalian Yingbo, while Shanghai Shenhua finished runner-up for the second year running.

With this victory, Shanghai Port has now captured four CSL titles overall, drawing level with Shandong Taishan in the record books. Shanghai Port also becomes only the third club ever to achieve at least three consecutive league titles, following Dalian Wanda (1996-1998) and its successor Dalian Shide (2000-2002), as well as Guangzhou Evergrande, who secured seven straight titles from 2011 to 2017.

Leading Shanghai Shenhua by two points heading into the final round, Shanghai Port secured the win with a fourth-minute goal from Brazilian forward Gabrielzinho, en route to concluding the season with 66 points from 20 wins, six draws, and four losses.

Despite a 3-1 away win against Tianjin Jinmen Tiger, Shanghai Shenhua fell two points short in the final standings with a 19-7-4 record.

The relegation battle was decided on the final day. Meizhou Hakka suffered a 5-1 defeat to Beijing Guoan, sealing its fate alongside the already-relegated Changchun Yatai, who lost 1-0 to Qingdao West Coast.

This marks Meizhou's second consecutive relegation after the club finished second from bottom last season, but was brought back to the top flight as the replacement for the Cangzhou Mighty Lions. According to Chinese Football Association rules, the club is now ineligible for a supplemental entry into next year's top flight, even if a spot opens up.

In other matches, Qingdao Hainiu secured its top-flight status with a 2-2 draw against Zhejiang FC, Chengdu Rongcheng drew 1-1 with Shenzhen Peng City to finish third, and Shandong Taishan rounded out the top five with a 5-1 thrashing of Wuhan Three Towns.

The season was notable for its fan support, as Dalian's 15 home games averaged 58,267 spectators, with the final round setting a new season-high attendance of 62,330. The total stadium attendance for the league also surpassed six million for the first time in history.

With four goals from the last round, Beijing Guoan's striker Fabio Abreu clinched the Golden Boot with 28 goals, just ahead of Shandong Taishan's Valeri Qazaishvili, who scored 27. Young China international Wang Yudong of Zhejiang was the top domestic scorer with 11 goals. Enditem
