XIAMEN, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- The police in Xiamen, Fujian Province, on Saturday issued a bounty notice for clues on illegal activities of 18 core members of Taiwan military's "psychological warfare unit," including one named Yen Chia-hung.
According to the police investigation, the unit has six divisions handling tasks such as disinformation, intelligence gathering, tactical psychological warfare, broadcast propaganda, and mobilization.
They launched websites for smear campaigns, created seditious games to incite secession, produced fake video content to mislead the audience, operated illegal radios for infiltration, and manipulated public opinion with resources from external forces, all aiming at advocating fallacies of "Taiwan independence" and inciting secession, the Xiamen police said.
The police urged people in Taiwan to be aware of the dangers of "Taiwan independence", distance themselves from separatist forces through concrete actions, provide clues on their illegal activities, and work with mainland compatriots to oppose "Taiwan independence." Enditem
