BEIJING, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.94 percent to 3,897.03 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.70 percent lower at 13,355.42 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at 2.52 trillion yuan (about 354.69 billion U.S. dollars), down from 2.65 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to fuel gas and coal led the gains, while stocks related to semiconductor, batteries and precious metals suffered major losses.
