DONGGUAN, China, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Aliyah Collier scored a game-high 24 points as the Guangdong Vermilion Birds defeated Sichuan Yuanda 83-70 in Game 1 of the 2024-2025 Women's Chinese Basketball Association (WCBA) league finals here on Saturday.

Huang Sijing added 21 and Yang Liwei had 14 for Guangdong, while Liz Cambage scored 22 for Sichuan.

Yang Shuyu scored nine points and Guangdong lead 24-21 in the first quarter. Cambage stood out to score 10 points in the second quarter to gift Sichuan a 42-37 advantage at halftime.

After the break, Sichuan continued its momentum, leading 60-57 in the third quarter, before Huang scored nine points to help Guangdong turn the game around at the final quarter. Enditem
