Top political advisor Jia Qinglin on Wednesday met with Brunei's Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Prince Mohamed Bolkiah.

Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said China-Brunei relations have seen healthy and stable development since the two countries established diplomatic ties 22 years ago.

The two countries have respected each other's choice of development path, actively explored mutually beneficial cooperation and become a model for countries of differing sizes in building equality and cooperation, he said.

Jia said both sides should find new ways to boost cooperation, as well as seek complementary advantages.

China is willing to work with Brunei, which holds the ASEAN's rotating presidency in 2013, to adhere to the theme of development and cooperation and further promote China-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations)relations, he said.

Mohamed said Brunei is satisfied with the development of bilateral ties.

As it holds ASEAN's rotating presidency in 2013, Brunei will continue to commit itself to promoting ASEAN-China relations and maintaining regional development momentum, he said. Endit
