Starting from today, several new regulations will take effect in China to provide better services to the residents. The new revised employment regulation defined the country's unemployment registration conditions.

It said that within a legal labor age, unemployed permanent residents who are able and willing to work could register at the relevant permanent public employment service agencies.

The Finance Ministry and State Administration of Taxation announced a tax on batteries and paints invlolved in the production, manufacturing, consignment and import process. The tax rate is 4 percent. It also defined an exemption of consumption taxes to different kinds of batteries, including mercury-free batteries, nickel-metal hydrogen storage batteries, and lithium batteries.

And residents who buy a new car could pay a lower consumption tax under the new vehicle purchase tax regulation.

Meanwhile, the newly-implemented Food Safety Sampling Inspection Regulation enhanced food producers' and traders' responsibilities. It also required that any food that doesn't meet regulations must be disposed of by the manufacturers immediately.
