Beijing police authorities perform security checks on various vehicles entering the capital city on August 12, 2014.

Since August 1, Beijing has tightened security for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2014 Third Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM3) and Related Meetings, which will be held in the city between August 6 and 21.
