The Diaoyu Islands have been China's territory since antiquity. China is consistent and clear on its position of the Diaoyu Islands. We oppose the unilateral action taken by Japan in "purchasing" the islands which is illegal and futile. The Chinese people and its government are persistent and staunch in its position of our territorial integrity.
