Many cities?in Liaoning Province were flooded due to heavy rain last weekend.

More than 400 workers were trapped in a railway tunnel that was flooded by torrential rains on Saturday morning, firefighters in northeast China's Liaoning Province said.

Floodwater blocked the high-speed railway tunnel in Qiaotou Town, trapping 350 tunnel builders and more than 100 water company workers, China National Radio quoted the firefighters as saying.

Firefighters from Benxi City rushed to the site this morning and began to rig up a cableway to bring trapped workers to safety. Rescue operation is still ongoing.
