The body of a missing miner was found Monday morning in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, bringing the total death toll in a fatal coal mine cave-in to five, according to local rescue authorities.

Rescuers retrieved the last body from the Yuanlin Coal Mine, located in the region's Xianghuang banner (county), at 10:40 a.m. Monday, according to the local rescue headquarters.

The last miner to be pulled out of the pit alive suffered eight rib fractures and has been sent to a hospital 150 km away for treatment. The rest of the rescued miners are being treated at another hospital about 40 km away from the mine, the headquarters said.

The miners' injuries are not life-threatening, the headquarters said.

Thirteen miners were working underground when the accident occurred, with just one managing to escape. Later that day, rescuers managed to establish contact with the seven surviving miners and pull them out of the pit.
