A couple finally met their fate Thursday thanks to some 10,000 weibo.com users – and one hopeless romantic who could not resist turning to the power of the Internet for help in bringing the pair together.

The "matchmaker" Luo Jinghan saw a note left in a Starbucks guest book on Monday that read: Chen Haomo, I will marry you if you can find this.

The girlfriend left the note for her boyfriend on Saturday, days after she turned down his most recent proposal.

A believer in grand gestures, Luo told the Global Times Thursday that she used her phone to take a picture of it before posting to weibo.com – a message that was re-tweeted by some 10,000 microbloggers.

A friend of Chen's told him about the post on Tuesday, when Lu Lanlan, 31, now Chen's fiancé, was out of town on business. Chen contacted Luo to retrieve the note his girlfriend of five years left for him.

"I've always been cautious of marriage," Lu told the Global Times Thursday. "I'm not exactly sure why I left that note, or if I really expected him to find it.

"But now I truly know that I have no reason to hesitate anymore," she added.

Lu said that she and Chen plan to marry in the fall – but before that they will meet Luo on the weekend to thank her for her romantic deed.
