A woman in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, held up a huge poster in the city center on May 25, expressing her desire to have a day off work on June 1, International Children's Day.

Adult wants holiday on Children's Day

The woman, surnamed Hao, is a migrant worker who has lived in Guangzhou for more than 10 years. Since her husband and daughter live in another city away from Guangzhou, she can only visit her daughter once a month.

Many residents supported Hao, saying parents also want to have a day off work on June 1 so they can spend more time with their children.
