At least seven people died after a traffic accident on a highway in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Thursday morning, local authorities said late Thursday.

As of 7:50 p.m., seven people were reported to have died from the accident, which happened on Highway G6, a national highway connecting southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region and Beijing, said an official of the regional work safety administration.
