Nine people were buried after a tunnel being built in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region caved in Sunday, the local police said.

The accident took place at about 4 p.m. Sunday when a section of a tunnel suddenly collapsed in Binyang County of Nanning, capital of Guangxi, according to an officer with the Nanning Municipal Public Security Bureau.

Rescuers are searching for the nine people.
