Hong Kong anti-graft watchdog have agreed to set up a standing working group with its counterparts in mainland's Guangdong province and Macao to jointly map out long term strategies and objectives to strengthen tripartite cooperation on corruption prevention and education.

Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) said on Sunday that the steering group would take charge of leading, coordinating and promoting graft prevention and education work, concerning areas like businesses, public officials and youths.

The group comprises senior officials from Guangdong People's Procuratorate (GDPP), ICAC and Macao's Commission Against Corruption (CCAC), said ICAC.

"A clean government and a level-playing field for business are key to healthy economic development. Therefore we need to take our anti-corruption cooperation to the next level," said ICAC Commissioner Timothy Tong Hin-ming.

The three parties would also consider launching a new guidebook of prevention tips and advices to help strengthen anti-corruption work for cross-boundary businesses, Tong added.
