A helicopter crashed into the sea area between the Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsular on Saturday noon, and all 13 persons onboard have been rescued, sustaining slight injuries, the city's police told Xinhua.

Hong Kong police said all the injured have been rushed to nearby Queen Mary Hospital. The 13 persons include 11 passengers and two crew members.

The crash site, the sea area, less than 200 meters south of the city's highest building International Commerce Center on the Kowloon Peninsular, has been identified by local police with yellow floats. A fire-fighting boat has arrived at the site.

Hong Kong police said they were investigating the cause of the crash.

The helicopter, which belonged to the Hong Kong-based helicopter service company Sky Shuttle, had just taken off and was flying on its way to Macao before plunging into the Victoria Harbor, the company said.

Following the accident, the regular air service was suspended.

Sky Shuttle provides helicopter shuttle services from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. local time every day between Hong Kong and Macao with flights departing every 30 minutes, with additional services as frequent as 15 minutes on designated holidays. It is the sole commercial helicopter operator between Hong Kong, Macao and the mainland's Shenzhen.
