Former senior legislator in northeast China's Jilin Province Mi Fengjun has been sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve for accepting bribes, a local court said Friday.

Mi, former vice chairman of the Jilin Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee, was convicted of having accepted bribes valued at more than 6.28 million yuan (919,258 U.S. dollars), said a verdict handed down by the Tianjin Municipal No.1 Intermediate People's Court.
