At least 10 people were killed and nine others were injured after a school bus ran into a cement tank and a car Tuesday afternoon in southern China's Guangdong Province, according to local government.

The accident happened at around 4:00 p.m. when a bus of a technician training school named Yuedong collided with a cement tank and a Santana car on Nanbin Road of Shantou City. All the injured were in hospital.

Local police said most of the passengers inside the bus were staff of the school.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
