Five people were killed and two others injured Saturday evening in a highway collision of a bus and a van in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, local police said.

The injured were sent to hospital after the accident, which occurred at around 8 p.m., on No. 210 National Highway in Nandan County of Hechi City. The dead were all on the van, said a spokesman with Guangxi's department of public security.

The police are probing into the case, the spokesman said without giving more details.
