Last year, China released guidelines for market value management to improve investor return and confidence. Listed companies in the country distributed dividends totaling 2.4 trillion yuan (US$329 billion) and conducted share buybacks worth 147.6 billion yuan in 2024, both reaching record highs, said Wu Qing, chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission on Thursday.
