The Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission announced recently that the mapping of key industrial chains in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has made steady progress and they are now expediting the planning of joint investment promotion events in the region.

The synergy among industries in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is shifting from individual partnerships to a coordinated regional industrial framework. A testament to this is the robotics sector, where Beijing, Hebei, and Tianjin have combined their strengths. Beijing has taken the lead in robotics innovation, particularly in healthcare, services, logistics, and specialized applications. A joint investment promotion event for the robotics industry was held at the 2023 World Robot Conference in Beijing, representing a significant step toward further collaboration.

The Beijing government has also introduced a series of policies to encourage the development of the robotics industry in the region. These include supporting robotics companies to establish a presence in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and providing incentives for companies that meet the criterion of the initiative.

In July, representatives from Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei established a joint working office designed to steer and coordinate development objectives. According to an official from the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, since its establishment, the office has been working closely with various specialized working groups to coordinate and promote key task implementation.

In May, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei jointly identified 50 key business platforms for industrial cooperation in the region. Of these platforms, 16 are located in Tianjin, and 34 in Hebei. Additionally, a work scheme has been formulated to facilitate the commercialization of technological breakthroughs and invigorate the growth of high-grade, precision-driven, and advanced enterprises in the region.
