John Suffolk, former chief information officer of British government, is hired by China's Huawei Technologies Co.

Huawei hires former British official	華為聘請英國政府前CIO擔任全球網絡安全主管
China's leading telecommunications equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co. announced Monday that it has hired British former chief information officer John Suffolk as its cyber-security official.	華為周一表示，該公司已經聘請前英國政府首席信息官(CIO)約翰-薩福克(John Suffolk)擔任全球網絡安全主管。
Huawei said Suffolk will take the post on Oct. 1 and report directly to Ren Zhengfei, the company's founder.	華為表示，薩福克將于今年10月1日正式就任該公司設立的首個“全球網絡安全主管”一職，并直接向公司總裁任正非匯報工作。
Suffolk will be responsible for monitoring and improving the security of the company's global supply chain, and supervising the delivery of telecommunications network based on the security requirements of customers and jurisdictions where the company operates, Huawei said in a statement.	華為在一份聲明中表示：“公司全球網絡安全主管的職責包括監測和改善公司全球供應鏈的信息安全環境，以及基于公司業務運營所在地區和消費者對安全的要求標準對其通信網絡的信號傳遞進行監督。”
Huawei added that Suffolk's job doesn't include sales and lobbying.	華為還表示，薩福克的工作絕不是進行銷售或游說。
The move comes as Huawei struggles to increase its presence in developed markets, where it has felt hindered by a spate of scrutiny from the governments of those countries.	華為正在努力拓展其在發達國家的通信設備市場，但卻面臨著來自這些國家的不斷審查。
Last year, U.S. mobile operator Sprint Nextel Corp. excluded Huawei and another Chinese manufacturer ZTE from a contract worth billions of dollars on national security grounds.	出于國家安全角度考慮，去年美國移動運營商Sprint Nextel Corp.將華為和另一家中國電信設備制造商中興通訊從其設備供應商名單中刪除掉，該合同總價值高達數十億美元。
Since the U.S. government must to review any deal that involves selling assets to a foreign company, Huawei has to take positive measures to improve its image in the eyes of the federal regulator. In 2009, Huawei hired BT Group's former executive Matt Bross as its chief technology officer to facilitate marketing in North America, a move considered a crucial step towards globalizing the company.	美國聯邦政府的相關監管機構必須對每一筆涉及將敏感資產出售給國外公司的交易進行嚴格審核，而華為已經采取了積極的措施來改善其在美國監管機構心目中的形象。2009年，華為就已聘用英國電信集團(BT Group PLC)的一名前高管馬特-布羅斯(Matt Bross)擔任公司的首席技術官(CTO)，作為其實現全球化企業目標的一個重要步驟。布羅斯主要負責支持華為產品在北美市場的推廣。
