Chinese shares closed mixed in the morning session on Thursday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 10.24 points, or 0.36 percent, to 2,873.18.
The Shenzhen Component Index rose 38.85 points, or 0.32 percent, to 12,241.47.
