China's stocks closed higher in the morning trading session Tuesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 24.19 points, or 0.85 percent, to close at 2,877.11 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.96 percent, or 120.89 points,to end at 12,678.44 points at midday.
