Chinese equities markets opened lower Tuesday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index losing 0.78 points, or 0.03 percent, to open at 2,534.5.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 10.75 points, or 0.11 percent, to open at 10,022.8.
