China National Petroleum Corp recorded a 12.6 percent increase in its overseas crude oil production and 67 percent rise in gas output in the first quarter of 2010 from the same period last year.

The company attributed the growth to safe operations, better oil prospecting, and progress in project construction. Its strategy to "go global" is on target, CNPC said on its Website.
