Chinese equities opened lower on Tuesday, tracking overnight losses on the Wall Street, which edged down after 4-day gains.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index shed 0.15 percent to open at 2,998.91 points. The Shenzhen Component Index declined 0.23 percent to 12,185.93 points at the opening.
