Chinese shares opened slightly higher on Tuesday after hitting a one-month low at Monday's close.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.01 percent to open at 3,094.85 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.21 percent, to open at 12,496.11 points.

Hisense Electric Co.,a major TV manufacturer and the country's largest maker of flat-panel displays, opened 0.31 percent higher to 25.98 yuan (3.8 U.S. dollars) after it estimated, in a statement to the Shanghai Stock Exchange Tuesday, to see doubled profits in 2009 boosted by strong sales.

Sichuan Changhong Electric Co., the country's second-biggest television maker, gained 2.5 percent to 6.98 yuan as of 9:40 a.m. on its Tuesday estimation of profit surge by more than 260 percent in 2009, boosted by upbeat performance in sales and investment.
