Chinese shares closed mixed at midday on Monday. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.23 percent, or 7.51 points, to close at 3,309.53 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.28 percent, or 38.73 points, to close at 13,923.65 points.

The Hushen 300 Index reflecting the performance of the country's Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges ended 0.02 percent higher midday at 3,644.16 points.
