Chinese shares ended more than 2 percent higher on midday Monday.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was up 2.53 percent, or 78.23 points, to close at 3,174.49 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 4.04 percent, or 520.16 points, to 13,396.3 points.
