Si Xianmin, general manager of China Southern Airlines, was appointed as general manager of the carrier's parent. The Guangzhou-based carrier will hold a shareholders meeting later to decide its chairman, and Si is also very likely to take the position, an industry source said.
Liu Shaoyong, former chairman of China Southern and general manager of its parent, was appointed to be the chairman of China Eastern Airlines last month.
