Two books, commemorating China's deadly May earthquake, will debut at the 2008 Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany.
The books, "Sichuan Earthquake Rescue 24 Hours" and "Our Common Sufferings: An Anthology of World Poets in Memoriam 2008 Sichuan Earthquake", recorded people's love and pain in earthquake, said Wu Di, an official with the publisher, Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press.
"We hope the books will attract people's attention to the quake area, because people are still struggling to rebuild their homes," Wu said.
"Sichuan Earthquake Rescue 24 Hours" is a record of the moments right after the earthquake hit. The other book is anthology of 57 poems written by Chinese and foreign authors.
Both will be available in Chinese and English.
"We also hope that the books help the world better understand China and its people," Wu said.
The quake, measuring 8.0 on the Richter scale, struck Wenchuan County of Sichuan on May 12. It left more than 80,000 people dead or missing.
The Frankfurt Book Fair, one of the world's largest book trading events, will be held from Oct. 15 to 19. It draws more than 7,000 publishers and book dealers from more than 100 countries and regions every year.
More than 5,300 books from 108 Chinese publishers will be on display.
