Model-actress Angela Yeung, better known as Angelababy, has replaced Fan Bingbing in the role of Xiao Fengxian in the historical film "Jian Dang Wei Ye", according to the China Film Group production company.

The film, which is currently in production, will offer an artistic view on the early history of the Communist Party of China.

Xiao Fengxian was a popular prostitute in 1910s Beijing, who was known for her romance with General Cai E.

Fan Bingbing has left the role to focus on another film, "My Way".

Andy Lau plays Cai E in "Jian Dang Wei Ye".

The film is being helmed by "The Founding of a Republic" ("Jian Guo Da Ye") directors Han Sanping and Huang Jianxin.

"Jian Dang Wei Ye" stars Liu Ye as young Mao Zedong, Chen Kun as Zhou Enlai, and Chang Chen as Chiang Kai-Shek.

It is slated for a 2011 release, in time for the celebrations of the Communist Party of China's 90th anniversary.
