Some 2,010 performers from China and abroad will sing classic folk songs from 23 countries at the "World Expo Chorus Festival" on July 21.

The performance will be the second largest event ever staged at the Cultural Center of the Shanghai World Expo, after the opening ceremony, said Jin Tao, deputy director of the Activity Department of the Bureau of the Shanghai World Expo.

More than 1,800 of the 2,010 performers are Shanghai residents, and the others are from choirs spread throughout nine countries, Jin said.
