The TV series "Apart and Love" ("Li Ai"), which will feature actors born in the 1980s portraying their own generation, has started shooting in Beijing, Sohu.com reports.

The drama is adapted from a 2008 novel of the same name, written by Liu Tong, who was also born in the 1980s. Liu and director Wang Shuo told Sohu.com that the drama can be summed up with two words: "growth" and "awareness".

The series will deal with real-life issues of the 1980s generation, focusing on such topics as flash marriage and entrepreneurship.

The cast includes Huang Ming, Zhang Jiani, Zheng Kai, Li Cheng, Zhang Xiaochen, Jiao Yang and Tian Yuan. They play several young adults with different backgrounds who tackle troubles in their romantic and professional lives.

Producers say an interactive project will be launched online in the near future to collect related stories from members of the 1980s generation.
