PetroChina has lately discovered an ultra-large gas field in Ih Ju
League of Inner Mongolia, with over 500 billion cubic meters of
natural gas estimated, equivalent to an ultra-large oilfield with a
reserve amount of 500 million tons of oil.
The gas field, as reported, is predicted to have a perspective
proven reserve of over 700 billion cubic meters of natural gas, to
be the largest in China and one of the world's biggest.
A
reserve of 220.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas was reported
last year. By now, 8 wells having been completed, with a daily
output of 600,000 cubic meters of natural gas and the highest of
1.2 million cubic meters by a single well, thereby winning Erdos
Basin the fame with the largest gas supply in China.
