On Aug 31, a 500,000-kilowatt integrated desert control and photovoltaic power project in Dalad Banner, Ordos, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, was successfully connected to the grid and began generating electricity.

Upon full operation, the project is expected to transmit 850 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity annually, equivalent to saving 260,000 tons of standard coal, while reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 720,000 tons, sulfur dioxide by 266 tons, and nitrogen oxides by 292 tons. 

The project has vigorously promoted technological innovation. From bracket foundation construction to component calibration and installation, photovoltaic component installation robots have been fully introduced, leveraging their advantages of standardization, precision, and all-weather construction. This has significantly improved installation efficiency and consistency while effectively reducing the risks associated with high-altitude operations.

As Inner Mongolia's first photovoltaic initiative that simultaneously combines renewable energy generation with ecological restoration, the project not only supplies clean power to the region but also significantly improves the local environment. It has also created employment opportunities for more than 400 farmers and herders in surrounding communities.
