Spain booked its ticket to next summer's FIFA World Cup on Tuesday after a 2-2 draw against Türkiye in Seville.

Coach Luis de la Fuente brought Yeremy Pino and Dani Olmo into his starting 11, and was rewarded after just four minutes when Olmo got on the end of Marc Cucurella's cross to open the scoring.

Spain dominated possession, with over 75 percent of the ball and should have increased the lead, only for Olmo to be twice denied by excellent saves from Altay Bayindir in the Turkish goal.

Deniz Gul leveled for Türkiye in the 42nd minute with a smart finish after the ball had been knocked down for him at the far post following a set piece.

It was the first goal that Spain had conceded in qualification and it needed two good saves from goalkeeper Unai Simon early in the second half to deny Irfan Can Kahveci and Ridvan Yilmaz, but Simon could do nothing to deny Salih Ozcan's powerful drive from the edge of the penalty area to put Türkiye ahead in the 54th minute.

Türkiye's lead only lasted eight minutes before Mikel Oyarzabal kept up his recent scoring run with Spain's equalizer, scoring from close range after Pino's effort was blocked.

Spain will next play Argentina in the Finalissima between the reigning European and South American champions in March 2026.
