The second China Commodity Fair Australia was kicked off at the International Convention Center Sydney on Thursday.
The three-day exhibition brings together nearly 200 Chinese enterprises from provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across China.
Within a 5,000-square-meter exhibition space, the exhibits span a wide spectrum of categories, ranging from household goods and home appliances to consumer electronics, aiming to provide a practical platform to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between China and Australia.
In a congratulatory letter to this year's event, Chinese Ambassador to Australia Xiao Qian stated that China and Australia enjoy close economic and trade relations. Cooperation in consumer products not only constitutes an important part of bilateral trade, but also serves as a bridge that enhances exchanges and mutual trust between their peoples.
Xiao was confident that through the fair, high-quality products from China would better meet the diverse needs of Australian consumers, while also creating favorable conditions and new opportunities for Australian businesses to better understand and engage with the Chinese market.
Andrew Robb, former Australian minister of trade, investment and tourism, said in an interview that bilateral trade has maintained strong momentum since the signing of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement. He noted that both countries have many high-quality products, and said the next step should be to establish and deepen commercial connections and enhance mutual understanding.
